Problems with diff and merge commands

Hi,

on my PC (Toshiba TECRA 8100) I got a problem when using SVNs the merge or
diff commands. Everything goes well (checkout, update, commit), except the
diff and merge fails. When using these commands there is no responce until
a timeout occurs.
On other PCs (using the same project, and same operation) the merge and
diff works quite well. Therefore its seems to be a local problem on my PC.
Is there anything special with the diff or merge commands?

Project: Very small dummy project with a couple of source files only.
