Versioned symlinks, as they exist in Subversion on Unix, are entirely
different from the VSS notion of "shared" files. Since Windows does not
support symlinks (neither shortcuts nor junctions nor hard links
accomplish the same thing), implementing this same functionality on
Windows is impossible.

That's not to say that implementing VSS's notion of shared files is
impossible, but please don't confuse people by interchanging the two.
