Check for past threads with "stall" in the subject. With all the
evidence submitted, I believe it can be a bug in BDB where a lock is
mis-managed. I'm eagerly awaiting for the 1.1.0 mandrake package to be
released and move away to fsfs.

BTW, if your problem is the same as was mine, be careful about it since
sometimes svnadmin recover won't work at all and you'll need to restore
from backup.
