Isn't the whole notion of labelling a hack to workaround a lack of
"real" copies, as Subversion implements them? Certainly that's the way
it feels to me, now that I've had time to use Subversion in anger.

That being said I'm still undecided on whether read-only copies
(independent of how they're used - for tagging or something else
entirely) are a worthwhile addition or not. I think I'd rather see a
"linked copy" function first - being able to create a copy of a file
that is automatically kept in sync with its source (and yes I know
about symlink support in 1.1, but that doesn't help us poor Windows
users).
