I concede they have a point regarding using symbolic names for
revisions. I'm still doubtful about enforcing non-writability, but as
Brad already pointed out, if we have symbolic names for revisions,
then most of the reasons for wanting non-writable branches /
directories / what-have-you become irrelevant.

But either way, perhaps the people who really want this feature should
take it up with the development list?
