In reading about the new source code control system from Microsoft (not
sue to ship next year) I found on feature to be extremely interesting.
I believe the call it shelving. It is the notion that I could work on
my working copy for a while & then "put it away" into the revision
control system - with out actually checking it into the trunk. You
might do this to work on a bug or something which requires a clean WC.
Then when ready you restore your WC to your shelved copy to resume your
larger feature.
I'm curious what it would take to do this in Subversion. Has this ever
been discussed as a feature for Subversion? Is it possible to do now in
subversion via existing mechanisms I haven't thought to use in this way?
