Looks like I'm running 4.2. What does this mean in terms of disk usage and
log file cleanup ?

Probably the right way to find out which bdb is linked against is to run
'apu-config --libs' or 'ldd `which svn` | grep libdb`. My apu-config has
'-ldb-4.0' in its output, indicating that my subversion is linked against
bdb 4.0.
