HTTP 400 error on checkout

Hello,

I installed a subversion/apache2 server at home and try to access it from my
office via a http proxy.
I set up the repository to be accessible for everybody for read-only
requests but rw operations are restricted with htaccess.
I have no problems listing the content but a checkout gives me the following
error msg:

svn: REPORT request failed on '/svn/ephec/!svn/vcc/default'
svn: REPORT of '/svn/ephec/!svn/vcc/default': 400 Bad Request
(http://me.ath.cx)

svn co http://me.ath.cx/svn/ephec/

where ephec is the repository.

I'm running apache 2.0.50 and subversion 1.0.6 on Debian woody
svn 1.05 (cygwin) on the client side but got the same behavior with
different clients on different machines and platforms.

I'd very much appreciate any hint on this issue.

thanks

Duke Quarcoo
