server timeout on big commits

From: Sascha Hauer <sascha_at_saschahauer.de>

Hi all,

When doing a 'svn commit' or 'svn switch' on big repositories (e.g. the linux
kernel), I get the following error:

svn: MERGE request failed on '/svn/linux/vanilla/linux-2.6.9-rc2'
svn: MERGE of '/svn/linux/vanilla/linux-2.6.9-rc2': timed out waiting
for server (https://iocaste)

The Error occurs right after all changes have been submitted and svnlook
runs on the server for ca. 100s. Everything works fine when I use svnserve
instead of apache/https. I assume this is a tcp/ip connection timeout.
I use subversion 1.05 (debian unstable).

Any help appreciated,

Sascha Hauer
