what proxy server for a svn cache ?

Hello,

We want to use subversion on multiple sites. So we intend to have a
server on one site, and use a web cache for the other site, as we don't
have much network bandwidth.

Trying this with squid, i have noticed that cache headers are not sent.
It is already reported in the issue 971, which is unfortunately still
opened and unscheduled:

http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=971

I have also tried with apache 1.3 and 2.0 as a proxy. I am able to make
the proxy cache working, but only for GET requests. For any DAV request
such as PROPFIND or REPORT, cache does not work.

So my questions are:
1) what other proxy web cache would you suggest, to have a efficient
cache for subversion ?
2) in case you suggest apache as a proxy cache, what is the correct
configuration ?

Thanks in advance.
