subversion client installation

Hi

I know it will be a basic question, but iam not able to make it working now.

Iam new to subversion and tryint to setup subversion for our project on sun
solaris.
I downloaded all the binary packages required and installed on one of our
server machine and it is working fine.
I have created a test repository and i can access this using file:/// svn://
and http:// from the same machine

Now i wanted to install, just the svn client in all other machines and want
to access this repository. I installed the same
package of subversion "subversion-1.0.5-sol9-sparc-local.gz" on another
machine and when i try to execute
"svn --version" on this new machine, iam getting an error saying "fatal :
libgdbm.so.3 : open failed". Should i need to install all other packages
like "gdbm-1.8.3-sol9-sparc-local" , "db-4.2.52.NC-sol9-sparc-local" etc on
all the machines where i need to run the client ??

From the subversion book and mailing list, i saw that i dont need to install
all these packages just for running a client.
So what could be my problem ?
