Client-side scripts?

Hi everyone,

Would it be good to have a feature where there were "svn:" versioned
properties that specified client side hook scripts for a repository?
Then copyright notices could be put in, etc. before a commit, and a
server-side hook script could stash away a descriptive error message
somewhere for a client-side post-commit script to read and print (an
unversioned property in the repository!?), if the commit fails: "You,
Joe Smith, are not allowed to change files in directory X, etc.", all
under the control of the administrator, and without any way to bypass
the client-side checks and required changes.

Lee
