I take it you're using a 1.0 version of Subversion? The history *is*
retained, but it's only from version 1.1rc1 onwards that "svn diff" is
intelligent enough to follow renames. Either upgrade to the latest release
candidate, or wait (hopefully not too long now?) for the next released
version.
