File attributes

Does subversion store file attributes like hidden and read-only?
I have some files that need to be kept with the hidden flag under svn. But I
couldn't figure out what subversion does, sometimes it keeps the
attributtes, others changes, it's a little messy. Or maybe I'm doing
something wrong.
