Hi Alan,

I believe there is an option to make HFS+ case-sensitive.

It's explicitly available on MacOS X Server and a command-line thing on
MacOS X Client.

That said, I probably wouldn't recommend using it.

Case-insensitive is usually more sensible ...

As well, it may cause some problems in other places.
