can post, but not getting any stuff from mailing list

Hello,

I can post to this list, but I am not getting
any of the messages -- what needs to be done
to get all the posts to this list mailed to me
as they are posted?

Also, the help says I can receive the thread
if I specify the "id-number" of a post -- how
can one figure out the id of a post?
