problem building https support in subversion

Hi,

I am building a current version of subversion and trying to includ https support. I've downloaded and
build open-ssl, neon, apr, apr-util and used --with-ssl (among other things) in building svn, but no joy,

svn --version returns:
///
svn, version 1.2.0 (dev build)
   compiled Aug 11 2004, 15:11:13

The following repository access (RA) modules are available:

* ra_dav : Module for accessing a repository via WebDAV (DeltaV) protocol.

  - handles 'file' schema
* ra_svn : Module for accessing a repository using the svn network protocol.
  - handles 'svn' schema
