case (I submitted a patch for the book, but the version at red-bean
doesn't have it yet), XP couldn't connect to a WebDAV share at all,
because the way XP creates the WebFolder .lnk file (if you added the
WebFolder to "My Network Places", this file is in c:\Documents and
Settings\myname\NetHood) makes it try to use SMB instead of WebDAV. They
are breaking the standard because they blindly assume you're trying to
connect to their own server.
I found that if you create the WebFolder shortcut on a Win2K machine and
copy the actual .lnk file to XP, it works. I'm not sure that this is the
same issue, but who knows. If you have a Win2K machine handy, give it a try!
