No change after installing neon-0.24.7 -- it fails exactly as before. I
didn't install subversion 1.0.6 because the binary RPM is not available
for RedHat 9.0 and I don't have time to go through the build process (I
am new to subversion). However, I will try 1.0.6 on Windows which
exhibits the same problem as the RedHat version. Of course, this is a
worthless test if the problem is on the server side (the same RedHat
machine I've been using to checkout).
