Hey, looks like you found a real bug. Thanks, Christian. We'll
probably roll the fix into 1.1rc2:

the username has a space in it. (The client response is encoded as
"username blah", where blah is some MD5 result. We should be searching
backwards from the end for the space, not forwards from the beginning.)
