That's of little help: running 'svn cleanup' takes a couple of minutes
and then finishes without reporting anything, leaving me wondering once
again what the state of my environment is: 'svn status' returns a list
of modifications, additions, and removes, but the 64k question is
whether it resumed and finished the merge at all?

And worse, the merge repeatedly (by now 3 times from two different
machines in completely different networks, one at home and one at the
office) bailed out half-way, reporting 'request failed... <yadayadayada>
could not read response body: secure connection truncated'. For now, I
don't see any other option than to try a work-around (either diff in
combination with patch or checking out a second working environment with
the other branch and merging locally). Definately not a confidence
builder in SVN as a competent successor to CVS. :-(((
