I just received this error this morning, and it took my Subversion
server
out of commission. The server process continued to run, but could not
service any clients. After killing the server process, I ran svnadmin
recover, svnadmin verify, and brought it back up. Everything was happy
after that.

My environment is Subversion 1.0.2 running on Windows 2000 SP3 with dual
hyperthreaded CPUs.

I am fairly confident the problem was not client related, since the
error
was reproduced with clients on multiple machines, and even server side
processes (svnadmin dump).

The problem affected only a single repository, and the svnserve process
continued to service other repositories.
