Just picking nits: it's 'checking out a working copy'. However, I don't think
that you can't do that, i.e. that you can't check out a new working-copy. So,
what do you mean and what is failing and with what error-messages?

It's mentioned in the book or the FAQ, as I remember from a very recent(!)
thread here.
