svn cat error: Can't write to stream

D:\Temp>svn cat -r 397 REPOURI/logfile.xml
The first two lines contain the start of the file's content followed by the
The german error message part translates to: Not enough memory available
There's 1G+ free space on d:\ so I don't know which memory runs out.
The file has a pretty long history and is about 300K of size.
The error occures both using svn:// and file:// style REPOURIs.
Is this a known issue?
