1.0.4 installed and working but error in Apache log

Whenever I access the data repositories via Apache I get the following
error in the Apache log files:

Mon Jun 14 09:08:40 2004] [error] [client] (20014)Error
string not specified yet: Berkeley DB error while opening environment
for filesystem /data/repos/db:\nDB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run
database recovery

[Mon Jun 14 09:08:40 2004] [error] [client] Could not
fetch resource information. [500, #0]

[Mon Jun 14 09:08:40 2004] [error] [client] Could not open
the requested SVN filesystem [500, #160029]

[Mon Jun 14 09:08:40 2004] [error] [client] (17)File
exists: Could not open the requested SVN filesystem [500, #160029]

Does anyone have an idea of how to rectify this please?
I have the correct permissions on the repository files

I am thinking that an incompatible version of the Berkeley DB is

Apache 2.0.49
