svndumpfilter

Hi,
I've been trying to split up a repository that houses multiple
projects, into many small repositories. I managed to find my way to
svndumpfilter in the Subversion book. Yippee! this is exactly what I
was looking for. There is even an example to follow! Unfortunately
things were not as rosy as it seemed... My repository is not a simple
one and there have been quite a few deletions of directories and things
moved around. In the end I didn't manage to get any of the filtered
dumps to import. I went and looked in the mail archives and the issues
database and found a few things that suggest that I'm not the first to
run accross these problems. From what I read svndumpfilter will
probably never work properly and there are plans afoot to move the
functionality into svnadmin. I didn't find an issue against svnadmin
about this. Is anyone working on this? In the mean time is there any
other way to export one part of a repository and import it into another
repository? Failing that I'm going to have to check out and in and lose
my revision history. :-(
Thanks for any comments...

Cheers,
Felix
