Where is mod_dav_svn?

I compiled subversion-1.0.4, but I can't find the mod_dav_svn.so module
for Apache. Was it supposed to compile as part of the main ./configure
make make install routine?

The INSTALL file section "B. Making and Installing the Subversion
Server" refers to something in Apache called APXS. Is that a separate
download?

I have a working Apache web server, but its configuration is confusing.
"whereis apache" points me, via a symlink, to /usr/lib/apache2-2.0.44,
which contains mod_*.so files and httpd.exp. There's nothing there that
looks like an executable. Apache runs, but I can't see how. The apxs
program is supposed to be in the Apache bin directory, which I don't
seem to have.

If it helps, I'm running Mandrake 9.1. Can anyone give me a few clues?
