advanced commit-email.pl

Dear all,

I make use of the commit-email.pl as it has been distributed.
In principle, I am quite satisfied with its functionality, however,
there are some issues I would like to have improved. Although I know
that I can modify the script however I would like to, my knowledge of
Perl is -- unfortunately -- quite limited. For this reason, I dare
to ask on this list.

My wish:
  I would like to get a full report with all the diffs only if the
  size of an email is below a certain, specifiable limit.

  A concrete example: One of my collaborators committed a huge bunge
  of files which resulted in an email of 25MB. I would have preferred
  to receive only the list of modified files.

Has anyone a solution to this "problem"?
