These two statements seem self contradictory to me. If you're going to
add functionality to your GUI, you can add whatever functionality you
like. For instance, adding named aliases for revisions is almost
trivial - just keep a table in a file somewhere known in the
repository. You could even integrate it into your implementation of
the client side svn cp command. Whether it is a good idea is a
different point of course.
