Thanks guys! I guess the moral is that I shouldn't always be so quick
to assume that I'm the one doing something wrong... It's just that
Subversion has been so solid in my testing so far that I was hesitant to
declare it a bug! Part of the problem I was having is that it was
unclear to me whether or not my repository layout matched the scheme of
example 6.3 on page 101. I'd suggest that it might be helpful to
illustrate what the directory structures look like for the security
examples, just because it wasn't clear to me whether the 'calc'
referenced in the example really was a standalone repository or just a
project folder within a repository... It's just a thought...

These two directives don't work together in svn 1.0.0.
Upgrade to 1.0.1.

The first problem is that you're using 1.0.0. I believe
[repository:path]
feature didn't show up until 1.0.1.
