No, I think the logic here was: If I rename a file and I ever want to do a diff with before the rename, I'll have to make one *huge* step of looking thru all the project's log for renames on my file before I can do the diff. And that's too much, way too much. So I rather not rename.

Since that premise of the logic turned out false, his conclusion might now be different as well.
