analogue to CVS "alias"

  does subversion have an analogue to CVS aliases? the svn book reference
page on "svn checkout" refers exculsively to "URL" and "PATH", with no
mention of a possible alias.

  if such a thing exists, it would be helpful to mention it on that page.
