PROPFIND error

I have an user complaining that their tortoiseSVN says "PROPFIND request
failed on '/path/to/repository'. PROPFIND of '/path/to/repository':
Could not read status line: connection was closed by server
(http://server/)". He gave me a screenshot, and his settings are
correct. None of this activity shows up in apache logs (using
mod_dav_svn), but everything works dandy for me.

Any chance of proxies mucking up his requests, and any known ways around
this?
