Case Studies

I am looking for case studies for Version Management software on large
scale web projects. Has anyone got such a case study or know where to
look to get one? Googling has turned little up.

Basically, I have been asked to propose a business case for replacing
the current multi-developer FTP system (poor) to some form of version
control system. The current system has led to breaks in the live
website, even after going through 2 sets of QA! Oh for decent version
management!

Still, some backup/documents/studies from elsewhere and less of the "It
must be implemented to restore sanity" comments from me would be helpful.
