Sharing files like sourcesafe

I apologize in advance, since I know this has been talked about before...

My company reuses code and components for different projects. In sourcesafe
we just share those files across multiple projects, and whenever a change is
made all projects get the latest version.

I've searched the archives for quite a while but haven't found anything
useful. Is there any clever way to get this working with subversion? How
do other people tackle this?
