svn: Failed to add directory 'Nouveau dossier/.svn': object of the same name already exists

Hello,

I am using svn 1.0.0 with server on linux + apache2 and some windows 98
clients using tortoise SVN (Version 1.0 also)

Somehow, one of my users added a "Nouveau Dossier" ("New Directory" in
French) including an existing .svn subdirectory (!).

I cannot update any more my repository: it stops when it reaches the
'Nouveau dossier/.svn' directory with the following error:
svn: Failed to add directory 'Nouveau dossier/.svn': object of the same name already exists

I understand pretty well why this .svn folder should not have gotten here
in the first place, and why svn update does not work any more...
However, I don't know how I can get rid of it !

(svn delete or svn ren do not accecpt my .svn argument!)

HELP !

Thanks,
Antoine
