Subversion Design Ethic

Hello All - Rather than "Space more Waste" the unspoken topic is the design
philosophy/ethic in Subversion's features and structures.

[1]On the one hand we have the discreet+discrete functional tool that works
at the most common denominator as is the Unix tradition.

[2]On the other we have the convenient, optimized and obscured safety of the
VMS/NT tradition.

I prefer the former.[1]
I also think the Unix tradition is the basis for Subversion design
decisions. I don't know, I wasn't there.
I ask that having selected a basis for design, Subversion not change. i.e.:
no registries.

Thank you, one and all.
