Is this a known bug or is something very wrong with our repository?

We have converted our old CVS repository into a Subversion repository at
everything works great except that svn crashes when we try to update a wc
when someone has checked in a rename of a directory.

svn crashes with the following error.
Assertion failed: opt || cstr, file subversion/libsvn_ra_svn/marshal.c,
line 434
Abort (core dumped)

We are running svn 1.0.0 on Solaris 8 using svnserve
