The only reason to worry is that libtool compat issue (sorry, we'll be
aware of it next time). In which case, all you need to do is run
autogen.sh and then configure. Try building 1.0.0, at least -- after
all, you don't have to install what you build if you're not completely
comfortable. 0.33 is quite old. You really should worry much more
about staying on that version than about upgrading!

1.0.1 will come out as soon as we can (will propose a date later
