I can't confirm clean builds on Solaris... (by the way, Solaris 10 is no
oficial version of the OS, just a preview)

FYI, I tried a simple client only build wo Apache 2 and Berkeley DB and
had two issues, as well on

Sun Blade 150, running Solaris 9 and gcc 3.3.2

as

Sun Blade 100, running Solaris 8 and gcc 3.2

They were visible already in version 0.32 I tried last year and not
corrected since then, it seems:

1. there is at several location a -lpthread missing, leading to missing
symbols at linking several parts of the software package

2. the attributes of libapr and lipaprutil are not correctly set, with my
umask of 026 I get wrongly a mask of that, making it unusable for non-root
users, so I had to change attributes after installation manually --- I
build often software packages on those two machines, and had never such an
issue with any other source compilation and installation

Please fix these issues finally at tigris.org before releasing subversion
1.0.1; Solaris is a too important development platform to ignore those
issues IMHO.
