svn co and proxy-servers

Hi,

We've been using SVN internally for some time now with great success.

However, today's the first time I've tried to check out source from public
repositories on the Internet. I'm behind an http proxy server and I can't
figure out how to get SVN to work with a proxy server.

I've modifed .subversion/servers with the appropriate proxy-server name and
port number, however each time I try to check out source from an
Internet-based server, I get told:

svn: REPORT request failed on '/repos/!svn/vcc/default'

svn: REPORT of '/repos/!svn/vcc/default': 400 Bad Request
(http://svn.elixus.org)

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Regards,

Stuart.
