Very large files confuse update

Hi again,

Further to my last message (large files break subversion update). I've just
run my code on a different machine and didn't experience the problem. Both
machines are i386 but the one which doesn't work is running 2.6.1 while the
one that works is running 2.4.20.

Anything else I can help with, please let me know.
