Levin, I just tried checking in a 3.7G directory yesterday, and it
imported fine. (It hasn't checked out fine yet, as I just mentioned in
the Malformed XML email). The biggest problem I had was that, since I
didn't know the repository would be so big compared to the files I was
checking in, I tried to import at least 4-5 times before getting it
right (each failure taking about 6-10hrs). I tried to import 3.7 Gigs
first to a drive with 4.5Gigs, then to one with 6.7G, then finally I
bought a new 120Gig drive and the repository used 7.1G of that.
In the FAQ, there is a question that says "why is my repository taking
up so much space?" The answer should really first say "your repository
will take about *twice* the space of the original files, and will grow
as you use the repository..." and then go on to talk about removing old
DB files. I guess the book could also mention something about disk
space when describing the svn import command
