different thread, identified a problem with using SWIG-1.3.20 and
saying that these problems might not be present with SWIG-1.3.19.

I have just finished installing SWIG-1.3.19 and reinstalling subversion
following that. The 'make swig-py' and 'make install-swig-py' has now
completed with only some warnings; the previous catastrophic errors
have gone away.

I have not fully tested the final results yet but it looks as though
SWIG-1.3.20 is significantly incompatible but 1.3.19 may be OK.
