RE: Why Cygwin? (was Apparent bug: svn client I/O problems under cygwin terminal)

I use Cygwin because of shell scripting and utilities. I use the windows
binary distribution of subversion and have no problems with cygwin & svn
command line. I use the normal (for cygwin) / in file names with no problem

Hi,

I have one question: -Why do somone use Subversion/Cygwin?
I'm just curious. I can't really see any advantages here.
