Checkout over SMB-shares not working in Win98?

Hello!

Has anybody tried to checkout a working copy (via http/https) in a smb-
Share?

I'm consistently getting a "Report Request Failed: 400 Bad Request" error.

Checking out a copy into a local folder works fine.

OS: Win98SE.
SVN: 0.34
Appache: 2.0.48

I've tried Win98-shares and Samba-shares but none of them worked.
