You might want to consult the paragraph on properties in Chapter 6 of The Book,
'svn:keywords' is probably what you're looking for...

Hey all,
I'm a rather new Subversion user and during the conversion of a
CVS-based project I found that I didn't know of anything resembling
$Date$ or $Revision$ in SVN, so I went to look at the FAQ and looked a
bit in the book, but didn't find anything. I then tried to search the
archive of this list, but no results there either.
So. Is it there? If not, is it going to?
