I concede, it's just my opinion. I think it would be interesting, though, to
get a poll on how many *nix subversion servers are out there as opposed to
Windows.

A few months back I tried to get Apache 2.0.x running on a Win 2000 box,
with SSL. Spent days and days, and it never worked. More recently, I've been
fighting with an oracle app server on a windows box. Nightmare. My rule of
thumb: *nix makes the best servers, but I'll drive them from my Windows box
via ssh, thank you.

Oh, and Linux (and FreeBSD) work fine on x86 boxen, so there's no need to
buy another computer if you want to go that way.

This thread could easily turn into an inferno, better to let it fizzle. ;)
