Me too.
I'd expect it to operate comparable to unix cp: if the first parameter is a
directory and the second parameter is a directory that already exists, then
after the operation, $2/$1 exists. For example:
# create the source tree
[issysd25@a05008 cptest]$ mkdir proj
[issysd25@a05008 cptest]$ touch proj/file1
[issysd25@a05008 cptest]$ touch proj/file2
[issysd25@a05008 cptest]$ mkdir proj/subdir1
# create the target directory
[issysd25@a05008 cptest]$ mkdir test
# import proj into target
[issysd25@a05008 cptest]$ cp -r proj test/
# now test/proj exists.
[issysd25@a05008 cptest]$ ls -l
total 8
drwxr-xr-x 3 issysd25 users 4096 Nov 17 16:57 proj
drwxr-xr-x 3 issysd25 users 4096 Nov 17 16:58 test
[issysd25@a05008 cptest]$ ls -l test
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 3 issysd25 users 4096 Nov 17 16:58 proj
