svn 0.33 and apache on win2k

Hello group,

I'm trying to set up a subversion repository via Apache on a Win2k box,
and get the following error, when accessing the repositroy:

C:\tmp>svn co http://pbmond:81/svn/foo/trunk
svn: Unsupported repository version
svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svn/foo/trunk'
svn: Expected version '2' of repository; found no version at all; is
'D:\svn_rep/foo' a valid repository path?

When I try to do the same via
C:\tmp>svn co file:///M:/svn_rep/foo
it all works well.

I have Apache 2.0.48 and svn 0.33 and set it up according to the
TortoiseSVN manual.

Any suggestions?

Cheers Frank
